Category:Personal developmentQ: How to check if a list contains a specific Item using restSharp I have restSharp installed and I am trying to check if a list contains a specific item. I know how to check if a list contains any item, but what I am after is a way of checking if the list contains a specific item. I have tried using the Contains function, but this is not valid. I then tried using the Count function to get the length of the list but this function appears to always return 0, even when the list is not empty. List myList = this.GetArrayOfWords(); //Where GetArrayOfWords() is a simple function that gives back a random word list if(myList.Count(x=> x == mySpecificWord)) //Where x is just the random word, mySpecificWord can be any word in the list { //My Code } Any help would be greatly appreciated. A: Even if myList.Count(x=> x == mySpecificWord) == 1, it could be the case that you've found that particular element before you're trying to query the list. I suggest that you add a dummy element to the list after you have already checked, and if you're lucky that element will be it. Then you can use myList.Any(x=> x == mySpecificWord) to determine if that particular element is the only element. var myList = new List(); myList.Add("foobar"); myList.Add("morefoobar"); myList.Add("bazfoobar"); myList.Add("Quux"); myList.Add("Quux"); myList.Add("Barfoo"); // now we can find the one thing if(myList.Any(x=> x == "Quux")) { // this is the only thing, and no other elements are "Quux" } // now we can check if it's all there if(myList.Count == 4) { // we found all the elements } Edit: If you need to be able to tell whether or not the specific element is the only one, use this code: var list = new List(); list.Add("fo
